Island Explorer

Island Explorer produces tourist media products in CD and DVD format about the Isle of Wight. We aim to cover a variety of subjects such as Isle of Wight pubs, attractions, geographical features and of course the Island's history. Our first Isle of Wight CD product was a commentary CD called 'Around The Island Tour' which was aimed at coach drivers. It follows the traditional round the island route and describes the many points of interest en-route. Following it's release in April 2007, we have found that car visitors are also purchasing it to enhance their holiday on the Isle of Wight. Each copy comes with a route description, 'Q' card and user instructions. More information on this can be found on the Products page.        

Presentation

Our theme is quite simple; informative but informal. We would like to think that our DVD film productions are not only factual but entertaining as well. We try to accommodate a wide spectrum of audience when making a production and strive to make our DVD's as easy to watch as possible.      

People

Presenter, Marc Tuckey is renowned for his ghost walks on the Isle of Wight which he has been doing since 1994. These have become very popular over the years and as such Marc has become a bit of a local celebrity. Marc has been with Island Explorer from day one and is the ideal guide for the viewer. The original idea for the 'Around The Island Tour' CD came from producer, Neil Hartland. Neil had previously penned the scripts for Island's Open Top Tour buses commentaries while working at Southern Vectis and being also an ex-coach driver, he wrote the sript for the CD taking into consideration of the suitability of the route for coaches.

While our original concept was to produce media products for any Isle of Wight visitor to enjoy, we also are happy to produce DVD's on behalf of other organizations. Please go to the Services page for further information.
